Jill |
Co-owner of Dekko salon, Jill Nishimura Tucci brings more than 10 years of hair dressing experience to her role. Prior to starting dekko with Jules and Jodi, Jill trained at Architects & Heroes in San Francisco and moved up to become one of the salon's top stylists. Having mastered styling, Jill turned her attention to color processing and embarked on an intensive training program at the Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica. Before deciding to pursue a career in the hair dressing industry, Jill trained at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, in fashion design.
She worked as a theatrical costume designer for theaters such as the American Conservatory Theatre in Seattle and in San Francisco at various theatre houses, including the San Francisco Opera House and The Asian American Theatre , as well as the Lamp Lighters Theatre . |

Jules |
Jules Chan, founder and owner of Dekko salon, has more than 20 years as a hairdresser and instructor around the world.
Prior to opening Dekko, Jules was listed as an "Alien with Extraordinary Ability, E1" for entry into the U.S. Under that listing she worked at one of San Francisco's most prestigious salons, Architects & Heroes, as senior stylist. Jules was listed in Vogue magazine (Sept 2000) as the San Francisco stylist to see for the best funky haircut in the city.
Jules brings extensive editorial and creative expertise to Dekko. She styled the hair for the Third Eye Blind music video for the hit song, Jumper, as well as photo shoots for San Francisco's top technology magazine, Red Herring working with world-renowned photographer Helmut Newton
Before moving to San Francisco, Jules worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Los Angeles. In Singapore Jules worked to re-train stylists and teachers for various companies. In L.A. she styled the hair on one of the most successful Asian commercials of 1998 - Ericsson - with Maggie Cheung and Michael Wong. In addition, she worked with MTV Most Wanted around Los Angeles, including U2's "POP" concert held in L.A. Coliseum.
During her time in Hong Kong, Jules served as stylist for MTV, styling the hair for photo sessions and events for MTV, Channel [V] and the Chinese Channel for Star TV. She styled hair for VJ's as well as pop groups such as Take That and singer Chris Isaak. She has also done photo shoots for Hong Kong's Elle and Cosmopolitan.
Jules' has extensive theatrical experience as well, having created wigs for the Hong Kong Ballet on classics such as Swan Lake, Peter Pan, and Cinderella, as well as opera productions such as Turandot.
Trained at Vidal Sassoon in England, Jules became one the the company's busiest stylist. She served as an instructor in Hong Kong, Taiwan, London, and Singapore. In her role as instructor, Jules helped establish the curriculum for the schools, and taught various courses including hair, make-up and total image concepts. She has done the hair for Mary Quant, Elizabeth Frazer from Cocteau Twins, and Sarah Dallin from Bananarama. |

Jodi |
One of the most respected and innovative colorists in the Bay Area, Jodi Ninomiya is a partner at Dekko and the Director of Color Services for the salon.
Jodi began her career as a color specialist training with Vidal Sassoon in San Francisco and London in 1993.
Before coming to Dekko, she served as Director of Color Services for Architects & Heroes Salon in San Francisco. During her tenure at Architects & Heroes, she redeveloped and oversaw the Advanced Education Training Program, as well as the color departments for their two salons.
She has been featured in magazines such as Bazaar as San Francisco's top colorist, as well as national television programs such as E! TV's Fashion Emergency and the Asian Specialty Show M2 .
Since 2000, Jodi has been independently employed working freelance on projects such as teaching color courses in Singapore for the Nexxus Color Line. At Dekko, Jodi offers her clients thermal reconditioning, as well as some of the most innovative and creative color treatments in the city.

Scott |
Prior to his experience at Dekko,
Scott Klassen worked at Architects & Heroes, one of San Francisco's
most prestigious and well-known salons. After undergoing a rigorous
enhancement program, he became one of their top senior stylists.
In 2001, looking to expand his portfolio, Scott became a freelance stylist. As well as his regular clients, Scott travelled to Singapore, assisting in seminars and shows for the Nexxus and Keune product range with a team from San Francisco.
From an early age, Scott had a passion for cutting hair, experimenting on friends and family. In 1995, he enrolled in Gold Coast Education in Santa Barbara. After graduating, he continued his advanced training as well as a Toni & Guy and Vidal Sassoon based cutting technique program to improve his skills. |

Aron |
A hairstylist at Dekko, Aron Dunkle is well known for his creative cuts and his laid back attitude.
Before coming to Dekko, Aron was a stylist at Architects & Heroes in San Francisco. During his time at Architects & Heroes, Aron was responsible for many of the reputation-building hair styles created by the salon.
Aron graduated from the College of San Mateo and quickly worked his way through an intensive, Vidal Sassoon-based cutting program at Architects & Heroes. He has also styled hair for many of the city's fashion shows, most recently styling for Gen Arts and Obedient Sons. |

Lucky |
Lucky's attraction to the hair industry began in the early 80's, gaining huge inspiration from the art, music and fashion scene of the time.
Feeling motivated, she embarked on the journey to become the color specialist she is today.
Her training began with a Vidal Sasoon based cutting program at Taglio Salon in Scottsdale, Arizona, while simultaneously attending Scott Cole Academy. She participated in the classes and seminars given by Haircolor USA creators Scott Cole, Linda Yodice, and Robert Cromeans. She also did print work while at Taglio Salon.
Moving back to San Francisco, Lucky decided to embrace a more creative path and start a career as a colorist at Architects & Heroes. During her time at Architects & Heroes she participated in both hair shows and make overs for Evening Magazine
Lucky has been working at Dekko Salon along with former Architects & Heroes peers for the past six years. She is honored to be working amongst such highly gifted stylists in a professionally cheerful environment.
Lucky's color is completely individualized . Her talents include soft and subtle highlights to personalized creative color. Accomplished in both hair relaxers and thermal reconditioning she is responsible for some of the most beautiful hair color strutting through San Francisco.

Andria |
Andria Falcon came to Dekko from Toni & Guy in Austin, TX, where she worked as a senior Art Director, specializing in hair cutting and styling. Andria has 18 years experience in the industry and began her career in Dallas, TX in 1989 with Toni & Guy, one of the leaders in the hair industry. She quickly worked her way up to Art Director status and was the Assistant Salon Manager for one of the highest volume Toni & Guy salons in Dallas.
In 1996, Andria relocated to San Francisco and joined the team at Architects & Heroes, one of San Francisco's premier salons. Within a year of her arrival, Andria became the Salon Director for Architects & Heroes' Bush Street salon. She continued her advanced education with the company, while directing and managing the salon.
After six years at Architects & Heroes, Andria ventured out as an independent contractor and landed at Specchio, a quaint Pacific Heights salon. During her 4 years at Specchio, Andria continued her quest for knowledge by training in color theory and technique with Goldwell.
In 2006, Andria rejoined Toni & Guy in Austin. However, she missed the San Francisco lifestyle far too much to stay. She moved back to the bay area in 2007 and joined the talented group at Dekko.
Andria's skills have been noticed by many celebrities and key local figures. Some of her clients include Atlantic recording artists The Donnas, actress Rita Moreno, illusionist Steve Wyrick, and Channel 7 Anchor Carolyn Johnson. Most importantly, she values each and every client and strives to offer them the best service she can.

Nikki |
A Bay Area native, Nikki started her career in 1999 at the distinguished Trio salon in Burlingame. There she completed an extensive training program focusing on advanced styling and coloring techniques. Once on the floor, she quickly became one of the most popular stylists at Trio by building a reputation for being creatively in tune with her clients.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Nikki's search for the latest haircutting and coloring techniques led her to some of the top salons in Los Angeles and Boston, where she continued her education by taking advanced courses at Vidal Sassoon, Bumble & Bumble, and Redken salons.
Nikki returned to San Francisco and joined the creative staff at G-Squared Hair Studio, a salon well known for its fabulous color and highlighting work. At G-Squared, she focused on rebuilding her loyal clientele and mastering the art of corrective color.
In 2007, Nikki joined the staff at Dekko salon. Her creativity and passion put her in a field all her own, and we are extremely excited to have welcomed her to our team.

Joni |
After receptioning at Architects & Heroes and Elevation salons, Joni decided to leave the desk behind and join the world of professional hair cutting. She completed her advanced training under the skilled guidance of Jules Chan in the Vidal Sassoon-based method.
She grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii, and in her free time enjoys playing air guitar and taking photographs. Joni is also the artist behind the staff portraits.

Sofia |
Sofia Palumbo, first generation Italian Canadian, completed her undergraduate degree of philosophy at the University of Manitoba with Honors.
While practicing as a senior stylist at Edward Carriere's, a top salon in Winnipeg, Canada, she participated in hair competitions and educational conventions and classes in Toronto, Montreal, and Italy. She also has certification in Advanced Training from Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell, Aveda, and Trevor Sorbie.
Since 1995 Sofia has continued her expansive career in San Francisco. She is thrilled to be practicing her craft in an urban, cutting edge city, maintaining a long-standing, devoted clientel from Roy's Salon in Presidio Heights. From 2001-2007 she opened and operated Specchio Hair Design in Pacific Heights (now Secret Agent Salon), which housed many of the talented former staff of Architects & Heroes. The experience and challenges of salon ownership were enriching and rewarding. However ultimately, she enjoys returning to the simplicity of solely taking care of the client.
Sofia has a knack for addressing the client's needs in a warm and engaging manner - incorporating current trends to the individuals needs with a completely personalized quality to her work in cutting/styling and coloring. You could say her style is clean, simple, and easy, with an edge.
She has a natural dexterity for precision, as well as free-flow cutting and styling. She can accent her cuts with either soft warming hues, shining glosses, or enhancing, bright highlights. Her clients rave specifically about her particular ability to work with gray regrowth coverage. |

Dax |

Dax is the man behind the scenes though he may be the one who shampoos your hair, which is lucky for you because he gives great head massages. When he is not at the salon, he likes to spend his time creating music, which is the real reason he moved to San Francisco. If someday he becomes famous, we can all say we knew him first. |

Heather |
Heather, a Bay Area native, completed her cosmetology school coursework in 2007. She is in advanced color training at Dekko. She is always looking for models, so contact the front desk if you're interested in having her color your hair. When Heather isn't assisting our stylists or advancing her color skills. she may be riding her bicycle, picnicking in the park, singing karaoke rock ballads, or searching for the next best thrift store find.

Danielle |
Danielle is one of the two receptionists at Dekko. She originally hails from South San Francisco, and some day she hopes to be a hairstylist and eventually own her own salon (just like Jill, Jules, and Jodi).
Danielle loves to sing, dance, and act, and just generally loves performing.

Violet |
After Violet completed cosmetology school and received her license, she joined the Dekko Salon family. She was our assistant on Saturdays for four years. During that time she attended college to receive her BA degree. She then left for a year to pursue her Masters. Now Violet is our receptionist and brings her multi-tasking skills and energetic pace to help keep the salon running smoothly.
Violet is a down to earth San Francisco native and likes to give back to the youth of the community in which she has worked & volunteered as a tutor, mentor, and juvenile probation intern. Her other interests are in hair, fashion ,education, and business.
